Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local deliveries, ensuring timely arrival at each destination
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition and compliant with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods professionally and addressing client needs courteously
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records using mobile devices or other digital tools
- Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including moving inventory and supporting manual handling tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or courier roles involving box trucks or similar vehicles
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and safe lifting practices in the workplace
- Ability to manually handle heavy loads using proper techniques and equipment such as pallet jacks or material handling tools
- Strong organizational skills for route planning and delivery scheduling
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members effectively
