CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER
We are seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our team! This position is located in Gresham, Oregon.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Construction Project Engineer is to assist the Project Manager with the planning and daily performance of the construction project. The Project Engineer manages the process of submittals, submitting RFI’s, coordinating delivery of materials, maintaining schedules, budgets, and logistical planning.
REQUIREMENTS
· Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent years of experience required
· Minimum 2 years as Project Engineer
· Field Experience Desired
· Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
· Ability to pass Federal Background Check
· Knowledge of a construction project from beginning to completion
· Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
· Must have strong verbal & written communication skills
· Creative thinking and willingness to collaborate with others
· Initiative-taking and ability to work independently
· Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word)
· Knowledge of Bluebeam and Procore
· Knowledge of LEED (Preferred)
· Knowledge of Construction Safety (OSHA)
PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support field in expediting schedule, completion of field paperwork, inspecting, verifying and expediting materials. Quality control of product and placement.
· Prepare scope of work instructions, technical requirements and bid packages for subcontractor and vendor items.
· Assist and support Project Manager by attending project meetings with General Contractor, Owner, Architect, and others.
· Working knowledge of the contract documents to include reviewing all drawings and specifications for design inconsistencies and conflicts.
· Know and understand the subcontract documents as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility.
· Write field questions and expedite answers from Architect to allow the assigned components of the work to be fabricated and installed in the most efficient manner.
· Assist in documenting changes, maintain project record drawings and specifications. Maintain project records, specifications, and plans.
· Receive and distribute information on clarifications and changes in the work for areas of responsibility.
· Utilize Procore to review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and safety requirements for assigned tasks.
· Working knowledge of project schedule.
PROJECT CLOSE OUT
· Attend and setup punch list walk-through as needed; compile the punch list and forward to Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
· Provide required close out information to the client at the end of the project (record drawings, O&M, warranties)
· Assist in maintaining the project files, close-outs, and storage of documents at completion.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS
· Build relationships with project team members, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and end users.
· Collaborate and foster positive communication with team members, management, and clients.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to communicate complex concepts to the construction team in meeting settings with Owners and Subcontractors.
· Other duties as assigned.
