Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 4:30 AM–4:30 PM | Rotating Weekends
Overtime: Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Terminal Operator 1 to support daily terminal operations in Alexandria, LA. This position is responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks and rail cars, maintaining site standards, assisting customers, and supporting an organized and efficient terminal operation.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, attentive to detail, comfortable working in an industrial environment, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all plant safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Load and unload trucks and rail cars according to the daily schedule.
- Operate mobile equipment after successfully completing required training.
- Assist customers and respond to questions and inquiries professionally.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and prepare bills of lading.
- Use company computer systems for email, training, safety reporting, and daily operational tasks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform basic equipment and site maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, terminal, warehouse, or related environment preferred.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to complete all required training, including First Aid and OSHA/IHSA 10-Hour certification.
- Must be flexible and willing to work rotating weekends and overtime as needed.
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work in a cement terminal environment.
- Exposure to cement dust, noise, changing weather conditions, and temperature extremes.
- Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 250 feet.
- Position requires physical activity and the operation of mobile equipment.
- Must be able to work extended shifts as scheduled.
