MetroConnects (Metro) is a special purpose district governed by a seven-member Commission that operates and maintains approximately 1,500 miles of sanitary sewer mains within Greenville County, South Carolina.
The AMC Manager is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) and oversees engineering inspectors dedicated to the AMC. This position reports to the Engineering Director.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise activities of the AMC engineering inspectors and manage workload.
- Manages and oversees the Annual Maintenance Contract, Annual MH Lining Contract, and Annual CIPP Contract. Coordinates and provides updates to the Engineering Director as needed.
- Assists the Engineering Director with preparing and managing the annual contracts budgets.
- Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization’s established policies and objectives.
- Create and issue repair work orders to AMC inspectors.
- Enforces and assists in updating Metro’s Sanitary Sewer Standards and Procedures Manual.
- Reviews submittal information (shop drawings, construction drawings, and asbuilt/record drawings).
- Tracks and enters project data into Cityworks. Performs quality control of AMC engineering inspector’s reports.
- Reviews construction plans and specifications.
- Provides periodic inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Coordinates with other utilities.
- Assists in preparation and receipt of encroachment permits.
- Assists staff in miscellaneous operations and maintenance, or engineering issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with four (4) years of experience or Associate degree in a related field with ten (10) years of experience.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency, ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality and accuracy of work.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- BlueBeam, Cityworks, GIS, MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD.
Compensation
Salary is negotiable based on experience. Metro offers a competitive benefits package including SC Retirement and comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance. No relocation assistance is provided. A background check and drug screening are conditions of employment. Metro also conducts random drug screening during employment.
