Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our educational team. Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to promote emotional resilience, social skills, and positive behavior.
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ social or emotional challenges, including those related to special education needs or behavioral health issues.
- Develop and implement intervention plans that support students facing crises or behavioral difficulties, utilizing crisis management techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and external agencies such as child protective services and child welfare organizations to coordinate support services.
- Assist in crisis intervention efforts during emergencies or behavioral incidents to ensure student safety and well-being.
- Advocate for students’ needs by connecting families with community resources related to childcare, mental health services, or cultural diversity counseling.
- Maintain detailed documentation of counseling sessions, interventions, and case progress in compliance with school policies and confidentiality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in educational or social service settings.
- Knowledge of child protective services protocols and child welfare procedures.
- Skilled in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques tailored for school environments.
- Background in behavioral health or mental health counseling with an understanding of special education requirements.
- Strong ability to manage conflicts effectively while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, administrators, families, and external agencies.
