Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to oversee the environmental services operations of our nursing home. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of housekeepers and laundry aides and ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our health center. This is a working supervisor position.
Duties:
- Develop and implement Environmental Services procedures and protocols to ensure the cleanliness of our health center.
- Oversee the environmental services team, including hiring training, and scheduling.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify environmental services needs and prioritize tasks.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, checklists, and audits that encompass the cleaning of all aspects of the health center.
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies.
- Notify administrator on any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
- Check stock levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper, supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Customer-oriented and friendly.
- Prioritization and time management skills.
- Working quickly without compromising quality.
- Excellent Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Knowledge of English language.
- Willing to help others.
Skills:
- Floor care: Experience in cleaning various types of floor surfaces. (Carpet, hardwood, tile)
- Hospitality: Understanding the importance of providing excellent customer service in a hospitality setting.
- Industrial cleaning: Familiarity with cleaning methods and equipment used in industrial environments.
- Ability to organize tasks efficiently and manage time effectively in a housekeeping role.
- Clean: Attention to detail when performing cleaning tasks to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
- Custodial: Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques for maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.
