Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Solar Sales Engineer to lead client acquisition and account management efforts for our commercial segment. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through effective business development, client relationship management, and strategic sales execution. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a strong technical background, and a proven ability to deliver tailored renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Management
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned territories and target markets.
- Identify, qualify, and secure high-quality commercial solar and energy storage projects.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and site visits to proposal development and contract closure.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
- Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
Client Engagement & Communication
- Conduct on-site assessments to understand client requirements and gather system specifications.
- Coordinate closely with internal design, engineering, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Represent Yellowlite at industry events, trade shows, and educational panels as required.
- Ensure exceptional customer experience through consistent communication and support throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Provide regular sales forecasts, market insights, and feedback on client and industry trends.
- Document and communicate project requirements to ensure seamless handoff to implementation teams.
- Monitor project execution to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
- Establish clients as positive references by exceeding expectations and delivering value.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience engaging with senior decision-makers and managing complex client relationships.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, site assessment, and key design criteria.
- Familiarity with building electrical systems, HVAC, and sustainable building practices.
- Ability to articulate ROI, cost-benefit analysis, and financial justifications to clients.
Professional Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution skills.
- High level of business acumen and a professional, consultative sales approach.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, CRM systems, and presentation tools.
