Position Summary: We are seeking passionate and creative On-Call Art Instructors to lead engaging,
hands-on visual and/or performing arts sessions for youth and community programs. This role offers
flexible, as-needed scheduling, ideal for dynamic educators who enjoy inspiring students through artistic
expression. The On-Call Art Instructor will facilitate art-based activities, foster a positive and inclusive
learning environment, and encourage creativity while aligning with our organization’s mission to
promote arts in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate art instruction — Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in various artistic
disciplines
Facilitate dynamic, engaging art instruction — Lead interactive, age-appropriate
lessons across various art forms, including:
- Visual Arts: Drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, printmaking, digital
art, Textile arts, fashion design, jewelry making, graphic design.
- Performing Arts: Theater, acting, dance, movement, spoken word, music, yoga, creative
storytelling.
- Multimedia Arts: Film, animation, digital media, sound art.
- Culinary Arts: Basic cooking, food presentation, cultural culinary exploration.
- Dance: Various styles, from contemporary and hip-hop to cultural and traditional forms.
- STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math): Integrate creative practices with
scientific and technological exploration, including design thinking, engineering-inspired
art, and interactive projects.
- Arts Mentoring: Provide guidance, motivation, and mentorship to students exploring
creative careers or personal artistic growth.
- Arts Education: Teach about the history, cultural significance, and evolution of different
art forms, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the arts.
- Inspire and guide students — Encourage creative exploration and skill development in a
supportive, inclusive environment.
- Adapt lessons — Tailor content to fit the needs, skill levels, and interests of diverse student
groups.
- Prepare materials — Ensure class materials are ready and organized; assist with setup and
cleanup.
