American Traveler is seeking a Polysomnographer / Sleep Technologist for a 13-week night shift contract in a hospital-based sleep diagnostics unit, requiring RPSGT certification and CPR.

Hospital-based Polysomnography / Sleep Diagnostics unit
-
Performs PSG, MSLT, MWT, and CPAP/Bi-level titration studies
-
Adult patient population requiring sleep diagnostic testing and DME education
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), typically Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights with possibility of Sunday as an alternate

36 hours per week; shift start time may vary slightly depending on the number of scheduled cases

No on-call requirement

RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) credential from the BRPT required
-
Current BLS/HCP-CPR (Heartsaver) certification required
-
Florida state license or compact license required if applicable

All certifications must be current at time of consideration

Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses

Proficiency with the International 10-20 system for electrode placement
-
Experience performing CPAP/Bi-level titrations per department protocol
-
Experience with AASM technical standards for polysomnographic testing

Performs polysomnograms (PSG, MSLT, MWT) in accordance with AASM technical standards

Performs CPAP/Bi-level titration per department policy
-
Ensures electrode impedances of 10k ohms or less
-
Conducts equipment integrity testing during studies, including electrode replacement, grid changes, biological signal validation, and CPAP mask leak checks
-
Performs routine equipment maintenance and serves as facility liaison with manufacturers for equipment repairs
-
Provides CPAP clinic education to patients to support DME compliance
-
Acts as a role model and mentor for fellow technologists and technicians
-
This is a smoke-free facility
