Cinematographer / Director of Photography — Music Video

Akwire Media Group (AMG) is seeking a talented, hungry, visually driven Cinematographer / Director of Photography for the official music video for “Jack in the Box.”
We are looking for an emerging cinematographer who understands how to create a true cinematic music-video look rather than simply capturing performance coverage. This is a freelance internship-level opportunity for someone looking to strengthen their reel, build professional relationships, and potentially grow within Akwire Media Group as part of our expanding production team.
The right person will have the opportunity to be considered for larger, paid AMG productions moving forward, including music videos, commercials, narrative films, branded content, and other professional shoots.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate should:
- Have experience shooting music videos, narrative films, commercials, or cinematic branded content
- Have a strong understanding of cinematic lighting, composition, camera movement, exposure, and visual storytelling
- Be comfortable creating polished performance and narrative imagery
- Understand how to achieve a premium, theatrical cinema look
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced independent production environment
- Be collaborative and able to work closely with the Director and production team
- Have a strong eye for skin tones, contrast, texture, practical lighting, and motivated lighting
- Be interested in growing with AMG and becoming part of a recurring creative team
- Be available Thursday, August 27, 2026
Preferred Camera Experience
Strong preference will be given to cinematographers experienced with cinema-camera systems such as:
- RED Cinema Cameras
- Sony Cinema Line — FX3, FX6, FX9, VENICE, etc.
- ARRI Alexa / Alexa Mini / Alexa 35
- Comparable professional digital cinema systems
Experience with cinema lenses, anamorphic lenses, filtration, lighting packages, gimbals, handheld operation, and professional camera builds is a major plus.
Owning a camera package is helpful but not required. Please specify what camera, lenses, and additional equipment you personally have access to when applying.
Visual Direction
We want the project to feel like a professionally photographed cinematic music video, with intentional lighting, strong contrast, dimensional compositions, controlled camera movement, rich color, and imagery that could live comfortably on a major-label artist’s reel.
We are especially interested in cinematographers who bring their own visual perspective and can contribute creatively rather than simply execute a shot list.
