CDR General Services is seeking a dependable and motivated Fitter Helper (Fabrication Assistant) to join our fabrication team in Port Allen, LA. This is an entry-level to semi-skilled position that supports fitters and fabrication operations by assisting with material handling, tool preparation, surface preparation, cutting, and fit-up activities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and willing to learn and develop skills in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

- Pay Rate: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in fabrication, welding, metalworking, or general labor preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Experience using angle grinders, sanders, wire wheels, or similar tools is a plus
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- Basic understanding of steel fabrication and material handling preferred
- Ability to assist with cutting, grinding, deburring, and material preparation
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn
- Ability to work effectively as part of a fabrication team
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required
- Ability to work standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a fabrication/shop environment
- Must follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Ability to work around heavy equipment, steel materials, and power tools
- Must be willing to assist with various fabrication and shop duties as assigned
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
