Job Summary
TransCon Builders Inc./Owner’s Management Company is seeking 2 motivated Entry-Level Construction Managers to join our construction and capital improvements team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience managing renovation, repair, troubleshooting, and capital improvement projects across our portfolio of apartment communities. You will support senior leadership while learning all aspects of multifamily construction project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing construction and renovation projects (roof replacements, unit turns, concrete, asphalt, interior/exterior upgrades, MEP systems, etc.).
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and on-site maintenance teams.
- Conduct site visits and daily/weekly project inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Review change orders, invoices, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records, photos, and reports in Procore or similar systems.
- Help prepare scopes of work, bid packages, and punch lists.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of construction experience (internships or co-op experience in construction is a strong plus).
- Strong interest in multifamily residential construction and property management.
- Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and willingness to learn project management software (Procore, PlanGrid, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel locally within Northeast Ohio and out-of-state (day trips).
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with apartment community renovations (EPDM roofs, unit turns, common area upgrades).
- Any exposure to construction estimating, scheduling, or blueprint reading.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
