High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff
Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System and Point of Sale)
Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Assist with banquet function activities to meet the expectations of client and hotel standards in terms of appearance, set-up, service, and food quality.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain complete knowledge of/comply with and enforce all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Reviewing the BEO (Banquet Execution Order) before each event with the Event Captains.
Pull and return liquor, beer, and wine for all events and complete consumption sheets
Ability to adhere to instructions listed in Run of Show for every event, detailing all pertinent information prior to the event.
Communicates with Chef and kitchen staff to coordinate timing needs for all food/ client requests.
Walk through the event space, ensuring all equipment are operational and to report any issues with the space or equipment to the appropriate department
Assist Event Captains in communication with clients, resolving guest complaints, and ensuring guest satisfaction when needed.
Assist with the closing of the event, ensuring all proper closing procedures are executed
Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
Take orders from patrons for food or beverage
Must see to each guests’ special needs (i.e. dietary, splitting dishes, paying special attention to children)
Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving
Assist with running of food
Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware
Perform food and beverage preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, brewing coffee, preparing hot or cold drinks, chilling wine
Always ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
Attend relevant meetings
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position.
