Job description:
Sokol New York has been offering gymnastics classes on the Upper East Side for over 100 years. We are seeking passionate and experienced Tots and Pre-K Gymnastics Coaches to join our team. As a Gymnastics Coach, you will be responsible for instructing and guiding gymnasts ages 2-5 of all skill levels in developing their gymnastics abilities. Your role will involve creating a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow while promoting physical fitness, skill development, and fun.
We are currently looking for Gymnastics Coaches with weekly availability beginning in September on Saturdays (all morning) with additional days are possible.
Duties:
- Develop and implement gymnastics class programming tailored to the needs of toddlers and pre-K children
- Create a safe, positive, caring environment that fosters a love of gymnastics
- Provide feedback, encouragement, and support to help gymnasts improve their skills and reach their full potential
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing gym rules, monitoring apparatus usage, and maintaining a clean training environment
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to coordinate schedules, trainings, and events
- Stay current on industry trends, coaching techniques, and safety guidelines to enhance coaching effectiveness
- Participate in class exhibitions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in gymnastics coaching. Must provide references.
- USAG Safety Certification and SafeSport certification required
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques, apparatus, spotting, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young gymnasts
- Demonstrated interest in working with young children
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and child development principles
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
