Job Summary
Small company looking for reliable trustworthy worker. Steady work year round. Paid weekly. Ideally we would meet at my shop at 6 am in Hillsboro Mo and ride with me to the jobsite in the surrounding stl area. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mason Laborer to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will support skilled masons and construction professionals by preparing materials, handling tools, and assisting with various masonry tasks. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help ensure smooth project progress and high-quality results. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in masonry and construction, contributing to diverse building projects including restoration, renovation, and new construction.
Duties
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites by setting up scaffolding, and mixing concrete or mortar as needed
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install building materials according to project specifications
- Help with the installation of building materials such as stucco, tile, trim carpentry elements, and roofing components
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris in compliance with safety protocols
- Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents on the construction site
Experience
- Prior construction experience or familiarity with masonry work is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and technical drawing comprehension is a plus
- Hands-on experience with concrete forming, plastering, caulking, restoration work, or masonry scaffold building will be advantageous
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of building material installation techniques such as bricklaying, stone masonry, tile laying, and mortar work
- Experience working on construction sites or in renovation projects demonstrates reliability and readiness for this role
