Packaging TechnicianPosition Summary
The Packaging Technician plays a vital role in ensuring Harbor Farmz products are accurately processed, packaged, and prepared for distribution. Working within a collaborative production environment, this position is responsible for maintaining product quality, inventory accuracy, and compliance with all applicable state regulations and company standards. Packaging Technicians help ensure that Harbor Farmz products consistently meet customer and partner expectations.
Essential Duties
- Weigh, count, package, seal, and label cannabis products according to established procedures.
- Perform packaging and production tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to verify product accuracy, appearance, and compliance.
- Review production schedules, work orders, batch records, and testing documentation.
- Assist with inventory tracking, reconciliations, and unit conversions as needed.
- Operate scales, labeling equipment, packaging machinery, and other production tools safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all Harbor Farmz Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and Michigan cannabis regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Harbor Farmz products and production processes.
- Follow all Michigan cannabis compliance, tracking, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, product concerns, or operational issues to management.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to accurately perform counts, measurements, and recordkeeping tasks.
- Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and inventory management systems.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, production, or warehouse environments preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Packaging Manager and Lab Director.
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
