The Custodian Day Person supports this mission by performing custodial, maintenance, and grounds duties, ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained environments for students, staff, and community members.
Your Role Will Include:

Assume responsibility for building operations in the Building Engineer’s absence; provide work direction to custodians.

Perform custodial duties including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas; floor care (including stripping, sealing, and vacuuming); washing windows, walls, and lockers; and general cleaning in accordance with district standards.

Maintain and repair building systems and equipment, including minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work, as well as monitoring building automation systems and boiler operation; report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate coordinator promptly.

Ensure facility safety and security by securing buildings, monitoring for and reporting vandalism or unauthorized individuals, and maintaining safe conditions through snow removal and grounds upkeep.

Support building operations by painting district facilities as needed; assisting with event setup/teardown; supporting kitchen needs; maintaining logs; communicating work directives; and providing customer service to staff, students, and community members.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minnesota Second Class C boiler license required upon hire.

Minnesota First Class C boiler license preferred.

Experience cleaning and maintaining commercial or institutional facilities is a plus.
Salary and Benefits:

Starting pay: $22.36–$31.71/hour depending on experience.
