Construction Site Superintendent – NYCSCA Projects
Maleni Group is seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee daily construction operations on New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) projects.
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient jobsite while ensuring that all work complies with project documents, applicable regulations, and NYCSCA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections and supervise all construction activities.
- Coordinate and schedule Construction Inspection Division (CID) inspections, special inspections, and required testing.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, site access, and construction logistics.
- Manage public protection measures, site security, and daily housekeeping.
- Enforce all NYCSCA Safety Program requirements.
- Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), FDNY, OSHA, NYCSCA, NYC Department of Education (DOE), and contract requirements.
- Monitor workmanship, quality control, project progress, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Maintain complete and accurate daily reports, safety records, inspection records, and other documentation required by NYCSCA.
- Report and document all accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, and corrective actions.
- Attend NYCSCA progress meetings, safety meetings, and project coordination meetings.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and testing requirements with the project management office.
- Coordinate after-hours, weekend, and school-related work as required.
- Manage emergency response activities and immediately communicate jobsite emergencies to the appropriate parties.
- Coordinate construction activities with school administration, NYCSCA representatives, project managers, and consultants.
- Maintain current approved drawings, specifications, submittals, permits, and project documentation at the jobsite.
- Track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and outstanding project items.
- Maintain and coordinate the TWLA schedule, project progress schedule, look-ahead schedules, and schedule updates.
- Identify schedule or coordination issues and work with the project team to resolve them promptly.
- Ensure the jobsite remains safe, secure, clean, and properly organized at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Previous construction superintendent experience.
- Experience working on NYCSCA, NYC public agency, school construction, or similar institutional projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, jobsite safety, inspections, scheduling, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and work effectively with NYCSCA representatives, school administration, consultants, and project management personnel.
- Ability to work after hours and on weekends when required by the project.
Required Certifications and Training
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health.
- 62-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor Card.
- 8-Hour Construction Site Fire Safety Manager course and valid FDNY S-56 Construction Site Fire Safety Manager Certificate of Fitness.
- 32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover training.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
