About the Opportunity
Bates Hewett & Floyd Insurance Agency is expanding our presence in the Newberry/Jonesville area and is seeking an experienced Commercial and/or Personal Lines Account Manager to join our growing team.
This position is ideal for an insurance professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing an established book of business, and working as part of a collaborative, locally focused agency. Depending on the candidate’s experience, the position may focus on commercial lines, personal lines, or a combination of both.
This is primarily an account management and client service position—not a high-pressure sales role. However, the Account Manager will help identify coverage gaps, rounding opportunities, and additional ways the agency can serve its clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and service an assigned book of commercial and/or personal lines accounts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding coverage questions, policy changes, billing issues, certificates, claims assistance, and general service needs.
- Process endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, audits, certificates of insurance, evidence of property coverage, and other policy-related requests.
- Review policies and renewal proposals for accuracy, coverage gaps, and potential savings.
- Market new and renewal business to appropriate insurance carriers when needed.
- Prepare proposals, applications, coverage comparisons, and other client-facing documents.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, underwriters, producers, mortgage companies, lenders, and other third parties.
- Maintain accurate and complete client records in the agency management system.
- Assist producers with new business submissions and the ongoing servicing of client accounts.
- Identify opportunities to round accounts by offering additional appropriate coverage.
- Build long-term relationships by providing responsive, professional, and dependable service.
- Follow agency procedures and applicable carrier, licensing, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous insurance agency experience in commercial lines, personal lines, or both is strongly preferred.
- Active Florida 2-20, 4-40, or 20-44 insurance license preferred.
- Candidates with strong insurance experience who are willing to obtain the appropriate license may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of insurance coverages, policy forms, endorsements, carrier requirements, and renewal processes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding client service.
- Comfortable working with agency management systems, carrier websites, email, Microsoft Office, and other insurance technology.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Experience with Applied Epic is a plus but not required.

Schedule and Location
- Full-time position.
- Monday through Friday.
- Primarily in-office in the Newberry/Jonesville area.
- Limited local travel may occasionally be required.
Pay: $38,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year
