American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with strong neuro, ortho, and robotics experience for a 13-week OR assignment at a Level I Trauma Center in Nebraska.

Work in a 12-suite OR at an acute care Level I Trauma Center
-
High-volume OR performing cases across general, GYN, GU/cysto, ortho, neuro, plastics, eye, ENT, thoracic, and endoscopy service lines
-
Common cases include bowel resections, cholecystectomy, total joint replacements, ORIFs, craniotomies, ventriculostomies, EVDs, hysterectomies, nephrectomies, and ENT procedures

Pediatric cases seen in emergency situations

Equipment includes Da Vinci Robot (x3), Stealth navigation, O-arm, and holmium lasers
-
Epic EMR used in this position
-
Day shift schedule working 5x8s (0630–1500) with some 12-hour shifts (0630–1900)
-
Weeknight call requirement of one 4-hour call shift per week following a regular shift
-
Rotating weekend call approximately every 5 weeks (Friday evening through Sunday evening), alternating between first and second call every 12 hours

No floating outside of the OR

Hospital-provided green scrubs

Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience
-
Neuro and ortho experience required due to high case volume in these specialties

Robotic surgery experience required
-
Competency across multiple specialties required, including ortho, neuro, GYN, eyes, ENT, and robotics
-
BLS certification required; CST preferred but not required
-
Epic EMR experience
-
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; a valid driver's license will be used to verify permanent address

Candidates may not currently be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
-
2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Assist with a broad range of surgical cases spanning general surgery, GYN, GU, ortho, neuro, plastics, eye, ENT, thoracic, and endoscopy

Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove artificial nails may result to contract termination
-
RTO must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
-
Candidates who were previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms at CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities may still be considered
-
12-hour orientation period
