Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with automatic and manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimal routes, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class A with clean driving record and three years of OTR Experience.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations.
- Proficiency in operating automatic and manual transmission trucks and handling 53 foot Dry Vans
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation.
- Experience with load & unload procedures for freight including freight security practices
