Collision Estimator
Position Summary
The Collision Estimator is responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, preparing accurate repair estimates, communicating with customers and insurance companies, and ensuring all repairs are properly documented and approved. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, technicians, parts suppliers, and insurance adjusters to ensure efficient, high-quality vehicle repairs and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and assess collision-related damage.
- Prepare detailed repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software (e.g., CCC ONE, Mitchell, Audatex).
- Review repair procedures and determine labor, parts, and material requirements.
- Communicate repair plans, costs, and timelines to customers.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and adjusters regarding claim approvals and supplements.
- Monitor repair progress and update estimates when additional damage is discovered.
- Order and track required parts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OEM repair procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of estimates, supplements, and repair records.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the repair process.
- Assist in achieving shop sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction goals.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in collision repair estimating, auto body repair, or a related automotive field.
- Knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods, and parts identification.
- Experience with collision estimating software.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with insurance representatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- I-CAR certification.
- ASE certification in collision repair or estimating.
- Previous experience in a collision repair center or dealership body shop.
- Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and guidelines.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
