POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides a variety of case management services to inmates confined at the Bucks County Department of Corrections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Conducts classifications on all commitments to identify offender needs and housing concerns.

Orients and educates new/recent admissions to each facility.

Maintains caseload which includes, but is not limited to, creating/updating case plans, ensuring court requirements are satisfied, handling offender issues, and facilitates work release and reentry planning.

Sends internal and external referrals as required.

Corresponds with courts, probation and parole, social services and other outside agencies as required. Assists with criminal and civil virtual hearings, as necessary.

Presents custody level reviews to supervisors.

Assists in general supervision of personnel who may be performing occasional case management duties, i.e., practicum students, etc.

Conducts program facilitation and assists with virtual programs as needed.

Submit reports as required.

May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job. More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

Provides crisis intervention, as necessary.

Functions as part of the Unit Management Team.

In an emergency situation, assume the duties of Corrections Officer.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree preferred with one-year correctional experience, or a combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Thorough knowledge of the Criminal Justice system with a clear understanding of Corrections.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in the use of OMSe, JNET, CorreTrak, and Microsoft Office.

Must be able to type 20 WPM.

Possess a high stress tolerance capacity; be very adaptable to changing circumstances.

Requires a valid vehicle operator’s license prior to appointment and during tenure as a Case Manager.

Ability to perform duties while “locked” inside a correctional facility in direct contact with incarcerated offenders.

Must successfully complete the Department of Corrections’ Basic Training class.
