Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head Coach to lead our class. The Head Coach at Tumbles Kids Gym & STEAM is responsible for leading the assistant coaches and delivering exceptional classes and movement-based programs that help children build confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of physical activity. This role combines coaching excellence, leadership, and operational support to ensure every child and family has an outstanding experience.
The Head Coach serves as a mentor to assistant coaches, maintains high standards for class quality and safety, assists with staff training and development, and helps create a positive, energetic, and welcoming environment. They work closely with management to support programming, member retention, special events, camps, and overall gym operations.
Responsibilities
PROGRAM DUTIES
1. Directs parents and children in program activities.
2. Assures the safety of all program operations.
3. Gives all cues for equipment and music support.
4. Directs the timing of program activities.
5. Delegates during program activities.
6. Recommends advancement of participants.
7. Interacts effectively with parents regarding the progress of their children.
1. Sets the mood! Is excited! Is happy! Has fun!!!
2. Knows parents and children by first name.
3. Acknowledges each and every child and parent during free time.
1. Assumes the duties of the Director when necessary.
2. Keeps Director informed of the status of the children, parents, program, staff, activities, supplies, operations, and other significant events.
3. Opens and closes the facility.
1. Trains Instructors and Assistants.
2. Reviews program daily with Staff.
3. Assigns program duties daily to Assistants.
4. Supervises Assistants in their program duties.
1. Ensures that all registration in own class is complete, waiting lists called, and money collected before next session begins.
2. Phones continuing clients who don't show up for class on the day of registration so that we know what the client is doing for the session.
3. Ensures that cleaning duties have been taken care of at lunch and after evening classes.
4. Ensures that the entire gym smells good.
5. Ensures that all bathroom, diaper, and promotional supplies (brochures) are well stocked.
1. Smiles a lot! Is caring.
2. Acknowledges everyone who comes through the door.
3. Initiates a caring conversation with people who "look like they need help."
4. Effectively sells our regular program and birthday program.
5. Maintains an orderly desk.
6. Maintains an orderly waiting area.
1. Knows everything about the Tumbles® Program including:
* Age groupings for each class
* Names for each class
* How we change our program weekly
* How we create a positive environment
* How many children are in each class
* How many instructors are in each class
* Why we maintain a non-competitive environment
* How we build self-esteem
1. Answers the phone (or delegates).
2. Returns phone messages (or delegates).
3. Answers information requests or questions (or delegates).
4. Checks in and registers guests and make-ups.
5. Receives and properly records and processes all payments.
6. Assures the security of roll books, registration cards, etc.
7. Processes mail.
8. Maintains the inventory of desk supplies.
9. Manages all birthday party supplies. Checks to see that everything is present when supplies are brought in.
1. Assists in facility maintenance as needed.
2. Assists in program presentation.
3. Handles salespersons and solicitations.
4. Handles "strangers" in the facility.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
