Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients with precision and care, ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing. Your expertise will support diagnostic testing, patient care, and overall laboratory operations. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and sample integrity
- Collect blood specimens accurately from patients of all ages, following established laboratory procedures and protocols
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to ensure comfort and cooperation during specimen collection
- Process, label, and transport specimens promptly to the laboratory for testing, maintaining chain of custody when necessary
- Monitor vital signs as needed and assess patient condition during procedures to provide quality patient care
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety guidelines
- Document all procedures accurately in accordance with medical terminology standards and laboratory documentation requirements
Experience
- Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred, especially in hospital or healthcare settings
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, venipuncture, and blood sampling procedures
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic technique to ensure safe and effective specimen collection
- Experience working with diverse patient populations while providing excellent patient service and care
- Familiarity with hospital protocols, specimen processing workflows, and vital signs monitoring is advantageous
- Strong communication skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely are essential for success in this role
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
