Duties
- Operate various machinery and equipment used in chicken processing, including meat cutting tools and packaging machines, following all safety protocols.
- Assist in the slaughtering, deboning, trimming, and portioning of chicken products with precision and care.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the production area in compliance with OSHA and HACCP guidelines.
- Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet food safety standards and specifications.
- Package finished products efficiently, ensuring proper labeling and storage for distribution.
- Follow all safety procedures related to mechanical operation, knife skills, and food handling to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to sanitation schedules and participating in training related to food safety and manufacturing best practices.
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety in food processing plants.
- Strong understanding of sanitation procedures necessary for maintaining a clean food production environment.
- Familiarity with HACCP principles to identify hazards and ensure food safety at every stage of processing.
- Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments, particularly within the meat or poultry industry.
- Proficiency in meat cutting techniques and knife skills essential for precise product preparation.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues quickly and safely.
- Ability to operate packaging machinery efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality control.
