Off Shore Resort is located just north of Bellevue, Iowa along the beautiful Mississippi river. Our resort features a hotel, campground, restaurant, event center and outdoor pool/aqua park. Although we are primarily a seasonal business, our hotel, restaurant and event center are open year round!
Off Shore Bar and Grill is hiring a Restaurant General Manager, come join our growing team!
The person will be responsible for overseeing all front of house operations including hiring, training, scheduling, ordering and all other daily functions. Your goal is to effectively direct the daily operations in a manner that will achieve our primary objectives of creating a wonderful customer experience.
Schedule: Work schedule for the will be coordinated / staggered with Supervisors and Support Staff to assure that one leader is on duty during all open hours. The hours may be periodically or seasonally adjusted to meet the requirements of the facility.
Paid Time Off (PTO): After 6-monthsof employment, the employee will be granted 2-weeks PTO. Beginning on employee’s 1st anniversary, the employee will receive 3-weeks PTO. At 2 year anniversary and on you will be granted 4 weeks of PTO.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive Sales
- Achieve company sales and profit goals
- Maximize sales by keeping appropriate staff levels. Remain vigilant and nimble regarding staffing levels and cutting employees as appropriate for business needs, weather conditions, seasonal considerations, etc.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with all staff to ensure goals for the day are delivered
- Perform table touches personally to ensure food quality and service standards are being achieved
- Coach team to promote sales of most profitable items throughout day (food, drinks, accessories)
Guests
- Positive, friendly, & constant engagement
- Proper, professional handling of guest comments, concerns, & complaints
Labor & Staff
Employee training and ongoing development is central to the culture at Off Shore Resort. Ongoing employee development is mission critical!
- Interview and hire new hosts, servers, bussers, expos/food runners, bartenders, barbacks, etc
- Create, review and approve schedules according to the pars in place
- Ensure each shift is fully staffed according to the par schedule created and assist in finding coverage for sick employees or schedule conflicts
- Manage labor to adhere to company goals & guest service expectations
- Determine cuts for the needs of the business and labor goals
- Development and Coaching
- Actively and constantly communicate w/ staff (expectations, guest service, inventory issues, daily specials)
- Gain Support (attentiveness & feedback w/ staff concerns, comments, suggestions)
- Maintain positive engagement w/ all restaurant staff, boost employee morale
Training Program
- Create and implement an effective training program
- Identify and develop promising candidates for advancement within the organization
- Ongoing training
FOH Cost of Goods & Operations
- Control/ manage costs in accordance with company goals
- Maintain healthy inventory levels & rotation process (product ordering & order pars)
- Maintain cleanliness and operation standards
- Confirm high standards of cleanliness are being met by implementing daily and weekly cleaning schedules per shift
- Observe/Coach/Train Staff w/ proper drink builds & waste control
- Determining placing & organization of bartender/server tools behind bar, in kitchen, and storage areas
- Confirm all shift-cut work is complete
- Complete/update daily manager report
- Establish, periodically update and assign/delegate:
Cleaning Duties, Management Cheat Sheets, Opening & Closing Duties
Guests
- Positive, friendly and consistent engagement
- Proper and professional handling of guest comments, concerns and complaints
Cash Handling
- Count daily deposit and prepare deposit slip
- Make change from safe during shifts
- Conduct staff checkouts and cash till exchanges
- Determining shift cuts and tip distribution

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
