Position Summary
Metson Marine Services, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Yard Supervisor to support one of our offshore oil & gas warehouse contracts at the Port Hueneme Support Facility (PHSF).
This role is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and yard operations that support offshore vessel and platform activity. The Supervisor ensures safe, efficient, and compliant handling of materials, equipment, and containerized cargo used in oil and gas operations.
You will work closely with warehouse staff, vessel crews, and operations teams to support offshore logistics and maintain a safe working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Yard Operations
- Supervise daily yard activities to ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and CCUs.
- Coordinate and oversee loading and unloading activities for trucks, vessels, trailers, and other transport equipment.
- Maintain organized yard layout and storage practices to maximize safety, security, and space utilization.
- Coordinate loading of pipe, materials, and equipment onto vessels and trailers.
- Schedule and coordinate bulk material transfers and drill cutting bin activities.
- Monitor yard conditions and report safety or environmental concerns, including leaking oil incidents.
- Ensure required operational and safety training for personnel is completed and documented.
Warehouse Operations
- Supervise warehouse shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory control activities.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Oversee commissioning materials, inspections, shipping documentation, and receiving records.
- Organize indoor storage areas to maintain safe and efficient warehouse operations.
- Troubleshoot operational delays and support timely resolution of warehouse issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse safety, organization, quality, and operational efficiency.
Safety, Compliance & Environmental Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable environmental regulations.
- Coordinate hazardous waste handling activities between offshore platforms and approved disposal locations.
- Maintain hazardous waste manifests and required compliance documentation.
- Maintain SDS documentation, chemical logs, and other environmental compliance records.
- Conduct and document inspections of chemical storage areas, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, warehouse racking, and related operational equipment.
- Coordinate NORM certification documentation and readings for applicable scrap containers prior to transport.
- Ensure all inspection records, certifications, and compliance documentation are completed accurately and retained according to company procedures.
Equipment & Facility Oversight
- Coordinate annual and pre-use inspections of CCUs, lifting devices, forklifts, vehicles, and yard equipment.
- Monitor the condition and maintenance of forklifts, yard equipment, perimeter fencing, gates, and exterior building areas.
- Maintain required inspection and certification records for operational equipment and lifting devices.
Team Support & Leadership
- Supervise and support warehouse and yard personnel
- Promote a safe and team-oriented work environment
- Support staffing coverage during peak offshore operations
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and vessel personnel
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in warehouse, yard, or logistics operations
- Relevant work experience in oil & gas offshore environments or similar industrial settings preferred
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety standards, and inventory control
- Experience supervising teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in an offshore support/logistics environment
Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
