Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing day-to-day manufacturing activities in support of production operations. This role executes batch production processes, maintains equipment and documentation, and ensures all manufacturing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with TerrAscend quality standards, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Follow daily production schedules to support efficiency and production goals.
- Verify that work areas, tools, and processing equipment are clean, maintained, and in proper
working order prior to the start of each shift or batch.
- Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools, and work surfaces.
- Manufacture products in accordance with processing batch records using manual and semi automated equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment as required to support production operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Inspect work areas upon arrival and departure to ensure proper safety practices and eGMP
standards are maintained.
- Accurately complete batch records and associated production documentation.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and process issues during manufacturing activities.
- Support process development and operational improvements within the manufacturing
department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of TerrAscend processes, procedures, and operational
workflows.
- Maintain a safe and orderly workspace to ensure the safety of all team members.
- Assist with post-processing production, packaging, labeling, and R&D activities as required.
- Work flexible shifts as needed to support critical production tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required with a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or
a related scientific field preferred.
- Ability to maintain excellent punctuality and attendance
- Flexibility with hours and days, including weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with team members.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must satisfy the minimum age criteria mandated by applicable state cannabis regulations for this
role.
- Background Check Required.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen.
Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have
exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes,
or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear
and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for
cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and
capable of working under all of the above conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- This position may require the ability to perform essential functions that include, but are not
limited to: Pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or
without reasonable accommodation.
- Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time.
Using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel, and pick objects (manual dexterity).
- Working with chemicals (e.g., butane, propane, bleach) while following strict safety
guidelines.
- Cleaning and maintaining the facility or equipment using approved chemicals.
- Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including clothing protection, close-toed non slip shoes, and optional ear and eye protection.
