Southwest Hazard Control, Inc. (SHC) provides environmental remediation, restoration and abatement services in Arizona, New Mexico and the Southwest. SHC is currently looking for an EHS Specialist to join our team. The EHS Specialist oversee all aspects of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee training. This role involves working closely with management and staff to identify risks, implement safety programs, and maintain regulatory compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies
· Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, ADEQ, etc.)
· Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
· Coordinate employee training on safety procedures and environmental policies
· Track, implement and be responsible for employee training, certifications and physicals
· Maintain safety documentation, reports, and records
· Support sustainability and waste reduction initiatives
· Serve as the main point of contact for all EHS matters
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field
· Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and other safety/environmental regulations
· Excellent communication and leadership skills
· Ability to train and motivate staff on safety best practices
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or related field preferred
· EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHMM) a plus
