Music For Everyone (MFE) seeks a visionary, relationship-driven Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and community impact.

The Executive Director serves as MFE’s chief ambassador and chief fundraiser, building meaningful relationships that expand resources, strengthen partnerships, and advance mission impact. Working closely with the Board of Directors and an empowered leadership team, the Executive Director provides strategic direction while enabling staff to execute operations and programs with excellence.

What You’ll Do
● Lead fundraising and resource development. Grow major donor relationships, develop prospect pipelines, guide campaigns and events, support grants and institutional fundraising, and shape compelling messaging that inspires investment in MFE’s mission.
● Serve as MFE’s chief ambassador. Build and sustain strong relationships with donors, schools, community organizations, funders, artists, volunteers, and civic leaders throughout Lancaster County.
● Provide strategic organizational leadership. Partner with the Board of Directors to set direction, align priorities, strengthen governance practices, and ensure the organization remains focused on mission, sustainability, and impact.
● Guide financial stewardship and operational effectiveness. Maintain oversight of budgeting, resource allocation, systems, structure, and key organizational decisions that support responsible growth.
● Support program impact and mission alignment. Work through staff leadership to ensure programs align with MFE’s mission, strategic priorities, equity commitments, budget expectations, and measurable community impact.
● Strengthen communication and visibility. Advance MFE’s public presence through storytelling, advocacy, community engagement, and clear communication with stakeholders.
● Invest in people and culture. Empower staff, collaborate with board members and volunteers, and help cultivate a joyful, transparent, accountable, and creative culture that protects MFE’s unique “fonk.”
Who We Need
We are looking for a visionary, community-centered leader who can grow resources, build trust, and bring people together around a shared belief in the power of music. The strongest candidate will be a confident fundraiser, transparent communicator, collaborative partner, and adaptable leader who understands how to balance strategy with hands-on community presence.
Ideal Experience and Strengths
● Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor cultivation, sponsorship development, and resource generation
● Experience building partnerships with schools, nonprofits, funders, civic leaders, artists, volunteers, and community organizations
● Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to translate vision into focused priorities and measurable results
● Financial oversight, budgeting, and organizational management experience
● Experience partnering effectively with a board of directors and supporting strong governance practices
● Commitment to equity, access, inclusion, and reducing barriers to music education and community participation
● Ability to empower staff, delegate appropriately, and cultivate a joyful, collaborative, mission-driven culture
Preferred Background
● A meaningful connection to Lancaster County and an understanding of its schools, neighborhoods, arts community, nonprofit ecosystem, and civic relationships is preferred.
● Experience in nonprofit leadership, board governance, arts or music education, community well-being, youth development, or mission-driven organizational growth
● Background in strategic communication, advocacy, marketing, or storytelling
● Systems-thinking approach with the ability to prioritize for impact while remaining flexible, humble, and creative
Work Environment
This role includes frequent meetings with donors and community partners, regular evening engagements, and occasional weekend events. Success requires flexibility, responsiveness, and enthusiasm for representing MFE throughout the community. Ideally, this is an in-office position and has flexibility to work remotely at times.
