Under general supervision, receives, stores and releases property seized as evidence and/or lost or stolen property; researches cases to determine final disposition and confirms status with detectives.
Knowledge of modern office methods, procedures and equipment.
Skill in performing a variety of clerical duties.
Skill in applying established storage procedures for receiving, documenting, and releasing items.
Skill to follow oral and written instructions.
Skill in effective oral and written communications with other city employees and the public by oral and written means.
Ability to obtain knowledge of laws and procedures related to evidence and chain of custody.
Ability to obtain knowledge of warehousing/storeroom storage procedures Ability to keep accurate detailed records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other agencies, vendors, and the public.
Ability to deal effectively with individuals who may be distraught or highly emotional.
Ability to input information into a records management system, mainframe and other personal computer systems and to access and retrieve information. Ability to understand and apply policies, procedures and guidelines relating to work performed; extract and evaluate information and determine subsequent actions.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited to carrying, seeing, squatting, and writing.
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle.
Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including, but not limited to dolly, cart, ladder, and computer.
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
