Our Patient Services Representatives at PHP are an integral and vital part of our patient care team and serve as the physician representative to patients and their families for their administrative needs. The position reports to the PHP location leader. The successful candidate is a highly motivated, take charge self-starter that has a strong desire to continuously improve, drive results plus passionate about providing the highest level of care and service excellence to our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with patient check-in, including registration, consent, demographic updates and chart creation.
- Answer all phone calls and emails, document and route phone notes and schedule appointments in a timely, professional, and friendly manner
- Assist patients with billing needs for both insurance and amenities services, including balance collection and questions
- Depart patients and balance / close out daily business.
- Enter hospital charges and edit insurance claims for filing
- Maintain clean common space areas, including waiting room, work stations
- Protect patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Provide coverage for other clinical team members as needed by placing patient’s needs above all others
- Identify need for improvement in office process and recommend solutions

Experience and Qualifications Required
- At least 2 years experience, preferably 3+ years in physician office
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with EMR needed, eClinical Works a plus
- Computer proficient, typing proficiency, software knowledge
- Able to work with confidential material and follow HIPPA guidelines
