Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Body Shop Manager to lead our medium and heavy duty collision repair and auto body service operations. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of the body shop operations, including repair workflows, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Supervise a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff to ensure productivity and quality standards are met consistently.
- Oversee auto estimating, service writing, and damage assessments to accurately determine repair costs and timelines.
- Manage customer interactions from initial consultation through vehicle delivery, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices across all shop activities.
- Monitor inventory levels for parts, tools, and supplies; coordinate with vendors for timely procurement.
- Drive upselling initiatives by identifying additional repair opportunities such as transmissions, suspension work, or tire services to maximize revenue.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management and automotive diagnostics.
- Extensive mechanical knowledge covering vehicle maintenance, auto body repair, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, shocks & struts, alignment, suspension systems, tire service, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and auto estimating.
- Service technician experience combined with excellent customer service skills to foster positive client relationships.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sales acumen with experience in auto estimating and automobile sales to promote additional services.
- Proficiency in service writing and automotive repair processes with an understanding of cash handling procedures.
