The New York City team is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead roadway, highway, and urban infrastructure projects.
The role combines technical design, project management, and team leadership across projects including roadway reconstruction, public spaces, rail, and transit.
You will gain strong client exposure, lead multidisciplinary teams, and support the continued growth of the local practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
- Lead multiple roadway, highway, and urban infrastructure projects
- Serve as Project Manager, Technical Lead, and Engineer of Record
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, consultants, contractors, and vendors
- Provide technical leadership and oversee QA/QC
- Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and design documents
- Resolve technical and project delivery challenges
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor engineers and junior designers
- Review team deliverables and provide technical guidance
- Support staff development and career progression
- Act as a technical resource on complex transportation projects
Business Development
- Support proposals, qualifications packages, and client presentations
- Develop project scopes, fees, budgets, schedules, and technical approaches
- Participate in interviews and project pursuits
- Build strong client relationships and support practice growth
Requirements:
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience within roadway, highway, or urban infrastructure
- Strong roadway design experience, including grading, drainage, utilities, traffic staging, and cost estimating
- Proven project management and multidisciplinary team leadership experience
- Experience preparing proposals, scopes, fees, and technical documents
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Working knowledge of NYSDOT standards and requirements
- Experience coordinating permits and approvals with public agencies
- Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Education and Licensing:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Active Professional Engineer license
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience
