Responsibilities
- Maintain constant visual observation of assigned patients to promptly identify any safety concerns or behavioral changes
- Assist healthcare staff with patient care activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed during procedures or transfers
- Monitor patient environments for potential hazards or risks, reporting issues immediately to the appropriate team members
- Support patients by providing reassurance, answering basic questions, and ensuring their comfort during their stay
- Document observations accurately and thoroughly in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations or behavioral escalations, following established safety protocols
- Collaborate with clinical staff to implement individualized safety plans for high-risk patients
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home & community care or hospital settings is highly desirable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain it prior to employment
- Demonstrated ability in patient care, including attentive observation and compassionate communication
- Experience working in critical care transport or emergency environments is a plus
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and risk management in healthcare environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts
