Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Full-Time Instructor to teach adults in English language skills, General Educational Development (GED) preparation, and Business Training. Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to adult learners’ needs in English language acquisition, GED preparation, and business skills training.
- Develop engaging curricula that incorporate instructional design principles and leverage learning technology platforms such as Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Facilitate interactive classroom sessions that promote active participation, critical thinking, and practical application of skills.
- Provide individualized tutoring and coaching to support diverse learning styles, including working with students with special needs such as deaf or visually impaired education.
- Manage classroom environments effectively through strong classroom management techniques, ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations; adjust instructional strategies accordingly to maximize student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives, teacher coaching programs, and integration of new learning technologies to enhance instructional quality.
- Maintain detailed records of student attendance, performance, and progress within the LMS; prepare reports for program evaluation purposes.
- Support adult literacy education initiatives by employing effective communication skills and culturally responsive teaching methods.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching adults in English language instruction, GED preparation, or business training environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning tailored for adult learners.
- Experience utilizing LMS platforms and integrating various learning technologies into daily instruction.
- Strong background in adult education principles, including working with diverse populations such as bilingual students or those requiring special accommodations like deaf or visually impaired education.
- Skilled in classroom management techniques that foster positive learning environments while maintaining discipline and engagement.
- Prior experience coaching fellow teachers or providing professional development on instructional best practices is preferred.
