Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, responsible and dependable Students Driver to join our dynamic Knox County transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students, and other authorized caregiver at times to and from their assigned school; while ensuring compliance with all safety and transportation regulations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to earn supplemental weekly income, gain valuable customer service experience, obtain credentials with the county school board and contribute to a positive and secure environment for our community. We are a Faith base company, hiring 1099 drivers to provide safe transportation to private students in the morning and at school dismissal in the afternoon. This job position is excellent to add supplemental income to your home. Work hours averages 1-2 hours in the morning and 1-2 hours in the afternoon; five days a week.
Responsibilities
- Safely pick up student(s) at their home address and transport student(s) to their designated school location during the morning and the afternoon at dismissal time.
- Follow all state transportation regulations and company policies to ensure student safety at all times.
- Assist student with boarding and disembarking your vehicle, providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude.
- Ensure your vehicle is inspected from time to time, including checking fluid levels, brakes, lights, and other essential systems to maintain optimal vehicle condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatcher, school officials, or clients to coordinate schedules and address any issues promptly.
Requirements scheduled by the County to Complete:
- Background Check.
- Fingerprints
- DOT Physical/Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Drug Screening.
- Driver's License F Endorsement, unless license is CDL.
- One-day Trans U Mini Shuttle Class (paid hourly).
Requirements Needed from Applicant:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Own a vehicle; year 2016 or newer. NO monster cars, trucks, two (2) doors, soft tops jeeps, or pick up trucks are allowed.
- Familiarity with the area and/or knowledge on use of GPS.
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with students and team members.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and problem-solving skills.
