- Assists registered nurse in planning patient care

Clinical Preceptor
- Performs as clinical preceptor as assigned

- Communicates patient information to the manager
- Documents information
- Charges for equipment and supplies
- Uses computer systems efficiently
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General:
- Operation of OR equipment
- Operation of Central Supply equipment
- Scheduling procedures
- Specific:
- Knowledge of procedures done at Crawford County Memorial Hospital and preference cards
- Understanding of sterile technique
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs
- Keep a calm attitude in stressful circumstances
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Prefer graduate of accredited Surgical Technologists program (RN’s and LPN’s are able to function as a scrub nurse with the same orientation as a scrub tech)
- BLS
- Scrub tech certification
Experience Requirements (mandatory and preferred):
- Ability to care for all patient populations
- One to two years recent experience in a surgical setting – scrub tech, RN, LPN
- Two years as CNA who exhibits excellent knowledge of sterile technique will be considered
