About the Role
As a Personal Care Aide, you will provide non-medical assistance to seniors and individuals who need support with their daily routines. You will play an important role in promoting comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life for every client you serve.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Provide companionship, conversation, encouragement, and emotional support
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment through light housekeeping tasks
- Monitor and report any changes in the client’s health, mood, behavior, or overall condition
- Support seniors and individuals with disabilities in maintaining independence and completing daily routines
- Follow personalized care plans while respecting each client’s privacy, dignity, and preferences
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, families, supervisors, and agency staff
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, long-term care, or community-based care is preferred
- Hands-on caregiving or personal care experience is strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of first aid practices is a plus
- Familiarity with ADLs, memory care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s support is preferred
- Experience supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or memory-related conditions is a plus
- Understanding of client rights, confidentiality, and person-centered care
- Strong communication, time management, reliability, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while remaining professional, compassionate, and dependable
