Staff Accountant
Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent business in the Lee County MS area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team! This customer is offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing! This is a direct hire opportunity.
Staff Accountant Job Summary:
o 1st shift Monday- Friday 8am-5pm (over time may be required)
Qualifications
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, cycle count analysis, and physical inventory audits.
- Monitor and maintain standard cost records and assist with cost accounting functions.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, and overhead variances.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing required documentation and schedules.
- Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting as required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased financial controls.
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience, within a manufacturing environment. -preferred
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of accounting software, or general ledger applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and operational priorities.
