Machine Designers Needed Immediately!
We are hiring 30+ Machine Designers to support a large automated machinery project in Greenville, SC. Candidates with experience designing custom automation equipment, production machinery, or industrial equipment using SolidWorks are encouraged to apply. Autodesk Inventor experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Design custom automated machinery and production equipment using SolidWorks.
- Create 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
- Design machine frames, tooling, fixtures, conveyors, and mechanical assemblies.
- Support engineering changes and equipment improvements.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams throughout the design process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent senior-level machine design experience may be substituted for the degree.
- 3+ years of machine design experience (senior candidates encouraged to apply).
- SolidWorks experience required.
- Autodesk Inventor experience may be considered.
- Experience designing automated machinery, custom machines, material handling equipment, assembly equipment, or industrial automation.
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings and mechanical assemblies.
- Knowledge of machining, fabrication, sheet metal, weldments, and mechanical components is preferred.

Overview
We are actively seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic engineering team on an urgent basis. This role is pivotal in developing detailed mechanical designs and documentation for complex systems and products. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mechanical drafting, 3D modeling, and system design, ensuring that projects are executed with precision and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and MicroStation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to interpret design requirements, specifications, and technical standards including ASME codes & standards.
- Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and detailed CAD documentation to support system design and construction activities.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools like Revit and NavisWorks to integrate mechanical designs within larger project frameworks.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate mechanical integrity and optimize product performance.
- Assist in the development of technical drawings adhering to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Support construction teams by providing detailed fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and technical clarifications.
- Maintain organized CAD libraries using PDM software for version control and project management.
- Contribute to technical writing efforts for project documentation, reports, and manuals.
- Engage in design reviews, troubleshooting, and iterative improvements to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Drafter with a strong portfolio demonstrating 2D CAD drafting and 3D CAD modeling expertise.
- Proficiency in multiple CAD software platforms including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, MicroStation, NavisWorks, Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, system design processes, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Familiarity with GD&T standards, ASME codes & standards, and building information modeling (BIM) tools.
- Experience with FEA analysis software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems design within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and schematics.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
