Duties
- Prepare a variety of menu items efficiently, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Cook dishes with attention to detail, ensuring flavor, texture, and appearance are consistently excellent
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices
- Collaborate with team members to deliver outstanding service during busy hours and special catering events
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within the food service or restaurant industry
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and servers
- Prior experience with menu planning, meal preparation, or catering is advantageous
