We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and technicians. As a Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by accurately assessing vehicle needs, providing estimates, and facilitating the repair process.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their vehicle service needs.
- Create detailed service orders and estimates for repairs.
- Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer concerns and repair requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Stay updated on automotive diagnostics, repair techniques, and industry trends.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records related to services rendered.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dealership or auto shop environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including experience with automotive diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Familiarity with various automotive systems such as transmissions, brakes, alignment, suspension, oil changes, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, tire service, air brake systems, and auto body repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers.
- Experience in service writing or auto estimating is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with service technicians and sales teams.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Cash handling experience is a plus.
