Pipeline Integrity Inspection Technician (Travel Role)
PROtect, LLC is hiring a Pipeline Integrity Inspection Technician to support critical infrastructure projects across the U.S.
This is a full-time travel position focused on inspecting exposed pipelines, identifying integrity issues, and documenting findings in accordance with client and industry standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
Pipeline Inspection & Field Work
- Conduct visual inspections on exposed pipelines prior to coating removal
- Identify coating failure and evaluate pipeline integrity issues
- Perform inspections using:
- Visual Inspection
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT, Shearwave, PAUT)
- Manual Pit Gauging
- Creaform 3D Scanning
Engineering & Analysis
- Perform R-STRENG, B31G, and B31G Modified calculations
- Conduct soil resistivity testing
- Perform pipe-to-soil cathodic protection measurements
- Conduct soil pH testing
Equipment & Technical Execution
- Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT inspection equipment
- Ensure proper selection and use of tools for field testing
- Accurately interpret and evaluate inspection results
Documentation & Reporting
- Create detailed inspection reports including sketches, photos, and measurements
- Maintain accurate data across multiple active dig sites
- Ensure compliance with client and industry requirements
Safety & Leadership
- Follow all safety policies and lead by example in the field
- Provide instruction to assistants and support team safety
- Maintain safe driving record and operate company vehicles

What You Need
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass insurance carrier requirements
Preferred Certifications:
- UT Level II
- MT Level II
- Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)
- Creaform experience
Preferred Experience:
- 5–10 years of NDT inspection experience

- Strong knowledge of multiple NDT methods
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organization and data management skills
- Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

- Ability to learn and use technical software/tools
- Strong teamwork and instructional ability
Physical & Work Conditions
- Full-time travel position across job sites
- Outdoor and industrial environments
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions
- Work at heights, confined spaces, and uneven terrain
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly (up to 150 lbs with assistance)
- Long shifts (up to 16 hours) and extended travel assignments
- PPE required at all times
