Preconstruction & Operations Intern (Paid Internship)
Location: Provo, UT
Schedule: Full-Time Summer Internship (Monday-Friday)
Pay: $18-$22/hr DOE
High Country Metal Works is looking for a motivated and tech-savvy intern to join our team this summer.
This is not a coffee-fetching internship. You'll work directly with ownership and gain hands-on experience in estimating, project management, operations, AI tools, construction software, and business systems.
No prior construction or metal fabrication experience is required. We will train the right candidate.
What You'll Learn

- Reading project plans and drawings

- AI-assisted workflows and business systems
- Project coordination and customer communication
- Job costing and profitability tracking
- Small business operations and decision making
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing project estimates and proposals
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Organize and update project information in JobTread
- Visit project sites to take measurements and gather information
- Track labor hours and project performance data
- Assist with customer communication and scheduling
- Help improve internal systems and processes
- Support ownership with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Strong computer and technology skills

- Self-motivated and dependable
- Current college student or recent graduate preferred
