Special Education/ ICT/3rd Grade
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver specially designed instruction within a Grade 3 Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom to support access to grade-level curriculum and promote student achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and implement inclusive instructional practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and support progress toward student goals.
- Use assessment data and progress monitoring to inform instruction and provide targeted interventions.
- Implement evidence-based literacy practices aligned to the Science of Reading.
- Apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive practices to create equitable and engaging learning environments.
- Partner with families, related service providers, and staff to support student success.
Essential Skills and/or Experiences:
- Experience in elementary Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) setting preferred
- Demonstrated use of data-driven instruction and progress monitoring to inform teaching and support student growth.
- Knowledge of specially designed instruction, inclusive practices and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Training and/or experience implementing the Science of reading and evidence-based literacy practices.
Preferred Skills and/or Experiences:
- Collaborative team member with strong communication skills.
- Demonstrates a deep commitment to inclusive educational practices and the ability to create accessible, supportive, and engaging learning environments that promote belonging, meaningful participation, and high expectations for students with disabilities.
- Understanding of the New York State Profile of a Graduate and development of future-ready learners.
- Commitment to creating equitable, engaging, and student-centered learning environments.
