Position Overview:
The Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the daily coordination of volunteers, fulfilling the department’s administrative needs, and supporting other projects as assigned. In this role, you will be a driving force behind training and supervising volunteers who play a crucial part in our mission. Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support/information to potential and current volunteers.
- Facilitate the training and welcoming of new volunteers, individuals, and groups.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the volunteer database, as well as tracking volunteer hours.
- Assist in volunteer staffing and attend special events, as needed.
- Assist with outreaches: preparation of materials and attendance reports.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and the appreciation process.
- Assist in the management of Volunteer Services projects.
- Assist in various aspects of special projects (ex: bracelet beading, solicitation and tracking of donations, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Volunteer Services or designee.
Qualifications
1. Minimum one (1) year of experience within the non-profit sector.
2. Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills (including public speaking and telephone engagement).
3. Computer literacy with proficiency in general word-processing and data entry and Microsoft Office.
4. Reliable transportation, a valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
5. Must be energetic and self-motivated, with a commitment to volunteerism.
6. Ability to organize, coordinate, and complete multiple tasks.
7. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
8. Ability to work with a diverse team of staff and volunteers in a fast-paced environment, exercising maturity and professionalism.
9. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and regularly lift or move items up to 30 pounds.
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: Full-time, non-exempt, 35 - 40 hours per week
