This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
Assists with shelter animal care and teaching animal care when used for demonstration purposes during veterinary curriculum laboratories in the student teaching lab, anatomy lab and clinical skills lab of the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position will also provide support duties associated with all laboratories such as assisting veterinary technicians, veterinarians, and veterinary students with animal care, assisting during dry teaching labs, maintaining supplies, cleanliness of the lab areas and cages. Processing and assisting students with cadavers, setting up lab supplies, and walking dogs.
This position requires knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related work experience in a veterinary practice, maintaining accurate records, typing and basic computer skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Technical Aide will be lifting animal patients onto cages and medical equipment; carrying animals between cages and exam tables and gurneys; pushing carts containing animals and equipment to other units; climbing stairs carrying lab samples; restraining animals; preparing for medical procedures and treatments.
