Responsibilities
- Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and rigging techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks.
- Operate bucket trucks and other equipment to access high branches or difficult-to-reach areas efficiently.
- Use arborist rigging techniques to dismantle or remove hazardous or unwanted trees while minimizing impact on surrounding landscapes.
- Conduct tree care activities such as planting, pruning, shaping, and health assessments to promote growth and safety.
- Perform landscape maintenance including lawn care, planting, and general landscape upkeep to enhance outdoor environments.
- Follow strict safety protocols during all operations, including chainsaw use, rigging procedures, and equipment handling.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including tree conditions, pruning schedules, and removal logs.
Skills
- Proven outdoor work experience with a focus on horticulture, landscaping, or arboriculture.
- Strong knowledge of tree care practices, including pruning techniques and plant health assessment.
- Skilled in the use of chainsaws, bucket trucks, and other arborist equipment such as rigging gear.
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping and planning purposes is a plus.
- Ability to perform tree removal safely using arborist rigging techniques and proper equipment handling.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to climbing, bucket operation, and heavy machinery use.
- Growing experience in landscaping or land management is preferred for ongoing development in the role.
